Houdini Plugin Always free
Kiosk for Houdini
The Kiosk Houdini plugin connects your asset library to Houdini's powerful node-based environment. Browse your content from a Python panel, load assets as file references in SOPs, apply textures in your material networks, or import VDB volumes — all without leaving Houdini. Custom Python commands let you define exactly how each asset type is handled.
More than a Houdini plugin
Poly Haven, auto-wired PBR materials, one-click Command Stacks — Kiosk handles the busywork so you can stay in Houdini.
Poly Haven, built in
3,000+ free HDRIs, textures, and 3D models — browse and download from Poly Haven inside Kiosk, then send them straight into Houdini.
OpenPBR Detection
Kiosk auto-detects PBR texture sets and wires a complete material — base color, roughness, metalness, normals, and more — the moment it lands in Houdini.
One-click Command Stacks
Build sequences of Python commands per category. Import an asset, create a material, and set up lighting — all in a single click inside Houdini.
Auto Thumbnails
Every model, texture, and HDRI gets a visual preview generated automatically. Browse your whole library by image, never by filename.
Built for your Houdini workflow
Designed to fit the way you already work.
One-Click Export
Click any asset in Kiosk and it lands in your active Houdini context. Geometry, textures, VDBs — no manual file paths.
Stage & OBJ Context
Works in both /obj (geometry) and /stage (SOLARIS/USD) contexts. Kiosk detects which context you're in and imports assets the right way automatically.
Relative Paths
All file references use Houdini-style relative paths ($HIP, $JOB). Your scenes stay portable across machines and render farms.
OpenPBR Detection
Kiosk automatically detects PBR texture sets and wires complete material networks for your selected renderer — no manual channel assignment.
Auto Thumbnails
Every asset in your library gets a visual preview generated automatically. Browse geometry, textures, and VDBs by image, not by filename.
Supported Renderers
Redshift, Arnold, Karma, and RenderMan. Renderer-specific material networks set up automatically based on your active renderer.
